Stamped Concrete

AshlarSlateRestaurantPatio_fullStamped concrete is a system of adding colors, patterns and texture to a plain concrete slab at the time of pouring. A finished stamped concrete surface gives an attractive, three-dimensional, two-toned appearance. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then stamped concrete flatters like nothing else can with it’s amazing ability to closely replicate, in both color and texture, popular paving materials such as cobblestone, brick, fieldstone and slate, to name a few.  Yet stamped concrete surpasses these traditional favorites in many ways, offering greater versatility, economy, long-term performance and ease of installation. Stamped concrete is a highly customizable product and at Alternative Edge we focus on tailoring your project to suit your individual design goals and budget, whether you want to achieve a natural look or be wildly innovative.

This beautiful texture will add just the right amount of interest to your patio. It offers the authentic look and feel of fractured slate. Some clients prefer this seamless style because they want an accent to their existing landscape and not a center piece.

This stamp consists of different size squares and rectangles, the largest being 16″. It’s size makes this a good option for smaller areas like front porches, entries, borders and pathways.

Large Ashlar SlateLarge Ashlar Slate

This is by far our most popular stamp. With different size squares and rectangles, the largest being 24″, the Large Ashlar Slate stamp works well on expansive areas. It offers great detail without creating a “busy” feel.

Roman SlateRoman Slate

This stamp offers the look and feel of slate that has been washed smooth perhaps by an ancient river. It’s texture is detailed yet smooth with a very light profile. Often used on steps, landings, borders or on entire patios. Another great design idea to create a custom look is to add hand tooled joints to create large 4′ to 8′ squares with chiseled edges.

FlagstoneFlagstone

This pattern closely replicates the look of flagstone with sanded grout joints. The largest stones are approximately 24″ across and have light yet realistic texture.
